What is Drupal?

Drupal is an open source content management system and web application framework that is used by a wide range of websites, including http://mtv.co.uk, http://greenpeace.org.uk and http://corp.aol.com.

We use Drupal because it helps us to rapidly build complex websites for a wide variety of uses. Often a Drupal site can be built with very little custom code as there are so many plug-ins (modules in Drupal-speak) available which can be used together to create the site you need.
