Introduction to Drupal
Where and when will it be held?
We're planning to hold this course in the new year.
Who is the course for?
If you or your organisation has just started or is considering using Drupal, our Introduction to Drupal course will set you on the right track and save you hours of time learning to configure and use the system.
The course will appeal to designers, developers and administrators. The day is jam-packed as there's a lot to cover (make sure you sleep well the night before!) and we'll really get you up to speed with what Drupal has to offer.
What the course covers
Our one day course covers the following topics:
- Installing and securing Drupal
- Overview of core modules
- Managing users
- Adding and displaying content: CCK, Taxonomy and Views
- Creating and configuring menus
- Understanding blocks and snippets
- Drupal resources and documentation
- Installing, amending and creating themes
- Writing a simple module
- Essential modules for every Drupal site
We're also open to suggestions for topics: send us an email and let us know what you'd like us to include.
Throughout the day you'll be building and theming your own Drupal site, so to get the most out of the course you'll need to bring a laptop. A little knowledge of (X)HTML and CSS would be useful too.
